RESEARCH LIBRARIAN – FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY – NEW YORK CITY
As the New York-based Research Librarian of this global investment and financial services firm, you’ll be working with over thirty databases as well as hard copy information resources. In addition, you’ll evaluate new information resources and train and advise staff on database searching. THE POSITION: Primarily responsible for responding to requests for information from the firm’s North America offices in a way that ensures the information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner. Typically, respond to requests for Information in these and related areas: public and private company financial documents, prospectuses, analyst information, market data, biographical information, industry overviews, M&A data, legislation, equity and debt issues data, and others. You will also advise staff on strategies for searching databases and conduct and/or arrange information resource training sessions. You will meet with vendors and evaluate local sources of information, as well as initiating and renewing subscriptions to all sources of information.
REQUIREMENTS: Related BA/BS; MLS/MLIS or equivalent degree preferred. Minimum of five years experience in an information service role, preferably in an investment bank or similar environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experienced in the use of databases such as Thomson SDC, Mergermarket, Bloomberg, Factset, OneSource, Factiva, Reuters Knowledge and Standard & Poors/Moodys/Fitch. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a remote Information Services team. Strong marketing skills.
