Dear Candidates, As a librarian who has enjoyed a wide-ranging career, having worked in public, corporate, entrepreneurial, and non-profit settings, and for the past eight years as a recruiter of librarians and information professionals --I would like to share with you a few thoughts. Though much has changed in the librarian/information profession due to the economy, globalization, and the revolution wrought by the Internet, our mission has not changed. We are in the business of finding and sifting through numerous resources to bring the right information to the right people in the right time frame. My hope is that you will embrace this challenge in all of its new complexities.
